Details About Myself

My name is Adam Peterson, and I am passionate about teaching music. I am an Arizonan living in Buffalo, NY, and I'm doing my best to stay warm in the winters! I was 9 years old when I started playing the viola in my school's orchestra and singing in my school's choir. Participating in these music ensembles changed my life, so now I am doing my part to give back and share those experiences with the next generation. I graduated with my bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in May 2016, and I am now a certified music teacher. I taught music in the Mesa Public School District for 5 years before leaving when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and I have 12 years of experience teaching one-on-one private lessons outside of the school system. I have taught private lessons to a wide variety of students. Some of my students have been young children learning the basics of everything. Others have been experienced high school musicians preparing auditions. I have also had adult students who were in orchestra when they were younger and are getting back into it in adulthood, and others who have never taken any formal lesson or been in any formal classes who realize that it is never too late to get started taking music lessons. I am so happy that I have been able to extend so many opportunities to my students, and I look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.
